The 1.5×1.8m Fidelity Fire Blanket is used for fire to whom you cannot use water as an extinguishing agent. Stove pan fires, electrical fires and a person’s clothing is a good example. The fire gets smother by the blanket and will not burn, melt, or drip nor does it cling to burned skin.

It depends on what kind of fire would occur due to what materials are around.

Here’s a simple guide:

  • Class A: For fires involving paper, wood, or furniture (e.g., couches or curtains) (Solids).
  • Class B: For fires involving flammable liquids like oil, gasoline, or grease (e.g., oil or paint thinners) (Liquids).
  • Class C: For electrical fires involving appliances or wiring (e.g., computers, circuit breakers).
  • Class D: For fires from metals like magnesium or sodium (e.g., certain industrial settings)
  • Class F: For fires from cooking oils and fats (e.g., deep fryers, stovetop cooking).

Each extinguisher has a label with clear instructions. It’s a good idea to read these instructions before using the extinguisher, so you’re prepared. For fire blankets, simply cover the fire completely with the blanket to smother it. To use an extinguisher, remember PASS: Pull the pin, Aim at the base of the fire, Squeeze the handle, and Sweep side to side

Fire extinguishers should be checked once a year. A dry chemical extinguisher needs a pressure test every 5 years, and a CO2 extinguisher needs a special test every 10 years.
